Team Lead – Emergency Preparedness and Response

Emergency Response Team Lead (Montreal)

Leading our multi-disciplinary team in Montreal, you will:
•    Direct, manage, and assist with environmental spill response services in Montreal and surrounding areas
•    Develop partnerships with local/regional contractors to provide support services such as: air monitoring; environmental sampling, remediation, documentation, and risk assessment; ICS management; SCAT; waste management, etc.
•    Grow GHD’s spill response business with local/regional clients
•    Supervise and coach a team of professionals
•    Prepare technical correspondence, project proposals, technical reports, work plans, and project specifications including cost estimates and budgets – Data compilation, reduction, interpretation, evaluation/comparison to environmental regulatory standards
•    Interpret and implement environmental regulations
•    Coordinate small- to large-scale projects including maintenance of project schedules and budgets and coordination of project staff.
What you will bring to the team:
•    BS or MS in chemistry, biology, earth sciences, environmental engineering, or environmental sciences
•    8 to 10 years of experience in spill response, management, assessment, and cleanup preferred
•    Fully bilingual in French and English to better support our clients
•    Experienced in environmental assessment/sampling, air monitoring, and ICS
•    Experienced in construction projects
•    Experienced in piloting UAVs
•    Strong problem-solving abilities and aptitude
•    Strong decision-making abilities under high pressure environment
•    Ability to present technical information, both written and orally, in a concise and professional manner
•    Ability to effectively communicate with other technical professionals, clients, and regulatory officials is a must
•    Positive attitude, very strong interpersonal skills
•    Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time (mostly local, some regional)
•    Willingness to respond to call outside of working hours (calls may come in any time or day of the week)
•    Self-starter, flexible team player, willing/able to work on a wide variety of tasks
•    Current OHSA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification, ICS certification preferred
•    Must reside in Montreal or surrounding area
•    Must have access to a vehicle
